ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, the country’s largest privately owned wine and spirits retailer with about 125 Florida stores, struggled with a homegrown, manual replenishment system that produced frequent out-of-stocks on some labels and excess inventory on others. Store-level data was hand-keyed and managers adjusted orders by intuition, causing poor in-stock positioning—especially for expensive, rare or slow-moving SKUs—until they implemented a demand forecasting and planning application from ToolsGroup (ToolsGroup Replenishment/Demand Management).
ToolsGroup’s solution automated replenishment, allocation and demand planning, using seasonality, promotions, TPR and value‑pack reporting to produce smarter forecasts and lost‑sales insights; orders can be routed directly to vendors and safety‑stock policies enforced. As a result, ToolsGroup dramatically reduced out‑of‑stocks and lost sales, increased GMROI and sales on previously constrained SKUs, cut inventory and warehouse costs, and significantly reduced the manual time required for replenishment.
