A TomTom Case Study

Preview of the Ramboll Case Study

Ramboll uses TomTom to uncover 15% of traffic cutting through residential streets

Ramboll, a global consultancy, faced a challenge providing consistent and complete traffic data for its mobility and infrastructure projects. Traditional traffic counting methods offered limited visibility, making it difficult to understand network-wide traffic behavior and deliver meaningful results for its clients. To enhance its advisory capabilities, Ramboll needed a scalable and reliable data source, which it found in TomTom Traffic intelligence.

By integrating TomTom Traffic and the TomTom Move Portal, Ramboll gained access to robust, network-wide traffic data and intuitive analysis tools. This solution enabled deeper traffic assessments and allowed Ramboll to train its clients to use the data directly. The results have been significant, with TomTom data used in over 300 assignments. In one example for a Swedish municipality, the data identified that 15% of vehicles were using local streets as shortcuts, enabling informed decisions to improve safety.
