A TomTom Case Study
Mazda sought to provide its customers with an affordable, state-of-the-art, and fully-integrated navigation system for its vehicles. The automaker partnered with vendor TomTom to leverage its navigation software, detailed maps, and live services to enhance the in-car experience for drivers across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
TomTom implemented a modular solution for Mazda, developing the external NaviBox device that connects to the head unit via USB. This flexible approach allowed for advanced navigation without overhauling the main multimedia system. The results included the successful rollout of systems like the NB1 and NVA-SD8110 across multiple Mazda models, providing drivers with reliable guidance, TomTom Traffic alerts, speed camera information, and easy map updates.
