Rolling Wireless - Customer Case Study

The customer, Rolling Wireless, faced the challenge of helping carmakers meet mandatory EU Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) requirements for entry-level vehicles without the need for expensive, additional onboard hardware. They partnered with vendor TomTom to explore using their pre-installed Network Access Devices (NADs) with TomTom's ADAS SDK Online software as a potential solution.

The solution from TomTom involved a successful proof of concept where their ADAS SDK was integrated directly onto Rolling Wireless's existing 4G and 5G NADs. This provided the necessary map and speed limit data for ISA compliance without requiring powerful hardware. This joint innovation from TomTom and Rolling Wireless demonstrated a potential ten-fold cost reduction for carmakers, offering a straightforward and cost-effective path to meeting regulations.
