Large Commercial Airliner was faced with an aircraft on ground (AOG) situation in Athens during peak holiday season after an auxiliary power unit failure, with no local availability of the required part. The airline needed an urgent, secure way to source and move the part from the US while minimizing downtime, passenger disruption, and the high cost of an aircraft being grounded. Toll Group’s Time Critical Solutions team was brought in to help.

Toll Group designed a time-critical logistics plan combining an On Board Courier and Next Flight Out service, using a bonded courier and priority cargo routing to move the part safely from the supplier to Athens. This approach improved security and traceability, eliminated the risk of offloading, and delivered the part to Athens five hours faster than standard Next Flight Out, arriving by 12:45pm local time instead of 5:30pm.
