City of Christchurch - Customer Case Study

After the devastating February 2011 earthquake, the City of Christchurch faced a major humanitarian and disaster-relief challenge as fuel supplies, clean water, and sanitation were all severely disrupted. Toll Group provided logistics support to help keep essential emergency services running and address urgent public health needs, including fuel, fresh water, and chemical toilets.

Toll Group coordinated a rapid, global supply chain response that brought in bottled water, desalination plants, portable toilets, and specialist equipment from New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America. Toll Group also established local water filling stations, relocated staff to Christchurch, and set up support services for workers, helping sustain relief operations and maintain aid at a tolerable level for residents while the city recovered.
