Toll Group helped Australia’s Largest Mountain transport two oversized heat exchangers for the Olympic Dam mine in South Australia. The challenge was moving the 170-tonne and 80-tonne loads 2,250 kilometres from Coffs Harbour across challenging mountain terrain, while managing permits, weather, road closures, and minimal disruption to local communities.

Toll Group delivered an end-to-end heavy haulage and logistics solution, including specialised equipment, route planning, transport management, and coordination with rail engineers, utilities, police, and regulators. The project was completed in 14 days of planned movement, with the convoy covering 2,250 kilometres safely and without incident; Toll Group secured approvals from 37 regulatory bodies in just six weeks and mobilised 23 vehicles and 37 people to complete the shipment.
