Australian Defence Force (ADF) engaged Toll Group to support a civil upgrade project at the Shoalwater Bay Military Training Area in remote Queensland. With no existing infrastructure on site, ADF’s construction partner, BMD Constructions, needed a self-sustainable, robust accommodation and camp services solution for 50 personnel over three months, including lodging, catering, cleaning and maintenance.

Toll Group deployed a rapid-deployment mobile camp developed by Toll, transporting it by road and assembling it on site in just 48 hours. The camp included accommodation, dining, recreation, laundry, IT/server, power and sewerage facilities, and Toll also provided 24/7 support plus HACCP-certified chefs. Over the project, Toll served more than 18,000 meals and delivered over 6,150 room cleaning services, while keeping the camp operational even during severe flooding and road closures.
