ATR aircraft needed experienced engineering and maintenance support for its ATR fleet in Australia, particularly for Skywest and Virgin Australia’s Virgin-branded operations. Toll Group was selected to provide aircraft engineering and maintenance services to help prepare and support the fleet.

Toll Group supported the ATR 72-500/600 aircraft through dedicated ATR engineers, conversion training, and ongoing maintenance at its Brisbane engineering facility. The result was successful certification and delivery of the first aircraft to Australia, with a 22,000 km ferry journey completed, and Virgin Australia and Skywest receiving their Air Operations Certificate before the ATR 72 entered commercial service in October 2011.
