Astute, an international consumer-engagement software company, needed a way to store cardholder data securely without significantly expanding PCI scope across its SaaS environment. To support a large customer with hundreds of thousands of cardholder records and meet strict compliance requirements, Astute turned to TokenEx’s cloud-based tokenization solution, which included an iFrame and vendor-agnostic gateway capabilities.

TokenEx implemented tokenization through a browser-based iFrame, secure web services, and API/batch support hosted with Armor, allowing Astute to keep cardholder data separate from its production systems. The result was a fast, flexible rollout that reduced PCI scope, supported additional sensitive data requirements, and helped Astute achieve PCI certification from zero to certified in just a few months.
