Case Study: DHHS improves youth homelessness support with Today's service design

DHHS co-designs youth homelessness reform with Today for ages 15–24

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) partnered with the vendor Today to address the challenge of youth homelessness, specifically the fragmented experience of accessing and using youth refuge services. The customer, a government department, needed to design a more cohesive system to support young people without a home.

Today employed service design and co-design methods, conducting ethnographic research with both service providers and young people experiencing homelessness. This research informed a new service model aimed at providing timely and effective support. The solution delivered by Today provided DHHS with a practical and cohesive framework to keep young people safe and help transition them to sustainable housing.
