A TMC Case Study

Tetra Pak - Customer Case Study

Tetra Pak, the global food processing and packaging company, faced fragmented, manual transportation processes across 165 countries with limited visibility after shipments left its factories. To gain a single, real‑time view of multimodal freight movements and move transportation from tactical to strategic management, Tetra Pak selected the Transportation Management Center (TMC) to deliver the Tetra Pak Logistics Control Tower — a centralized web portal and control‑tower service provided by TMC (a division of C.H. Robinson).

TMC implemented a global control‑tower solution that consolidates carrier information, delivers real‑time tracking and event notifications, and provides daily reporting and analytics across all modes. By centralizing North American and European freight decisioning, consolidating carrier invoices and shipments, and enabling analysis of waiting times, routes and loading accuracy, TMC’s control tower is expected to drive sizeable cost reductions, better risk management and a shift of factory shipping teams from operational tasks to strategic improvement; initial rollouts began in the U.K. with TMC expanding operations via control towers in Amsterdam and the U.S.
