Case Study: Korea Railroad Corporation improves ticketing efficiency with TmaxSoft TPM

A TmaxSoft Case Study

Preview of the Korea Railroad Corporation Case Study

KORAIL saves money, improves efficiency and provides better customer service with Tmax TPM

Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), South Korea’s national railway operator, needed a new ticketing and membership system that could better manage seats, fares, and customer rewards while handling a rapidly growing number of online users. The existing mainframe-based system could not provide the integrated, real-time service KORAIL needed. TmaxSoft provided the technology foundation, including Tmax TPM, JEUS, and WebtoB.

TmaxSoft implemented a three-tier architecture for KORAIL’s business and online ticketing systems, delivering mainframe-level reliability and support for high transaction volumes. The new platform enabled 24/7 ticket reservations up to one year in advance, across multiple channels, while improving seat reselling, promotions, and membership services. As a result, KORAIL improved customer service and efficiency, and gained the capacity to support more than 45,000 simultaneous users regularly and over 200,000 during peak periods.
