A TMA Systems Case Study
Brigham Young University–Idaho, a 400‑acre campus with more than 40 major buildings, relied on a legacy CMMS that provided almost no data collection or reporting as its Facilities Services Center grew in scope and complexity. With limited funding and increasing campus demands, the university needed a technology solution to streamline workflows, improve resource and manpower allocation, and reduce operating costs while maintaining campus facilities across many trades (custodial, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, fleet, grounds, etc.).
BYU–Idaho implemented WebTMA (project completed in four months) across all Facilities Services areas, configuring segregated data views on a common database and deploying modules for work and preventive maintenance, asset/resource/project management, inventory, billing, and mobile/barcode operations. Combined implementation, training, data standardization, and integrations enabled better operational reporting, more efficient workflows, improved asset and inventory control, and stronger charge‑back/billing processes—helping the university allocate resources more effectively and lower operating costs.
