Crane Solutions Eliminates Late Penalties with Tive Tracking System

Crane Solutions, a Houston-based 3PL and subsidiary of Crane Worldwide Logistics, needed better monitoring for high-value, time-sensitive loads (server racks, solar panels, satellites, designer clothing) to avoid delays, damage, theft and late penalties. They selected Tive, Inc.’s tracking system—deploying Tive Legacy multi-sensor units and 4G Solo single‑use trackers—to gain real‑time visibility across location, temperature, light and shock with significantly longer battery life.

Tive, Inc. integrated its trackers with Crane Solutions’ TMS and supplied reusable and disposable devices that transmit granular location and condition data and alerts. The trackers deliver much longer runtimes (Crane can use Tive units for up to 72 days versus ~30 days for competitors; disposables can last ~45 days at 2‑hour intervals; rechargeables ~2 months), enabling real‑time ETA warnings, temperature monitoring, shock and door‑open detection. The result was fewer shipment disruptions, faster damage mitigation, and a new value‑added tracking service Crane sells to clients.
