A Titan GPS Case Study
Western Weather Protectors Ltd., a 30+-year Alberta commercial roofing, waterproofing and protective coatings firm with branches in Calgary and Edmonton, was struggling to manage a growing field force — more than 70 employees, 10 crews and some 25 trucks. Management suspected inaccurate timesheets, unauthorized travel, rising traffic violations and vehicle mishaps were hurting productivity and profits, so they engaged Titan GPS to evaluate GPS fleet tracking.
Titan GPS supplied a plug‑in OBD tracking unit and ran a trial that was quickly expanded across crews. The system exposed time-card abuse (one crew had been claiming up to 140 hours per man over two weeks), after which reported hours dropped to about 90 per man without loss of output — saving Western Weather Protectors Ltd. an estimated $16,000/month for that crew. Broader deployment of Titan GPS also curbed unauthorized weekend/evening travel, cut dangerous driving and speed infractions, reduced fender‑benders, and improved time reporting and job estimating.
