Noom Brings Accounting In-House with Streamlined Financial Operations

Noom, the behavior-change health app with 45+ million users and a 1,000+ person global team, outgrew its manual payables processes as it scaled. Accounts payable relied on checks, multiple disconnected systems (Google Drive, Excel, email) and third‑party accountants, creating lost or voided payments, cumbersome vendor management—especially for foreign and contingent workers—and the prospect of adding at least two finance hires to keep up.

Noom implemented Tipalti integrated with NetSuite to centralize and automate payables: OCR reduced data entry, vendors self-onboarded and managed tax forms and payment preferences, and stronger controls improved visibility. The result was bringing accounting in‑house, eliminating outsourced help, avoiding two full‑time hires, shortening the close by two days, and enabling scalable, acquisition‑friendly finance operations.
