A TINYpulse Case Study
GuideOne Insurance, a faith‑based insurer founded in 1947, faced growing HR risks in its 94‑person IT department: a new CIO’s 90‑day review revealed staff overwhelmed by unrealistic workloads, outdated technology and a lack of feedback or recognition—issues that threatened retention in a tight technology labor market. With voluntary turnover and signs that loyalty lay to coworkers rather than the company, leaders needed a fast, ongoing way to surface and act on employee concerns.
The CIO piloted TINYpulse weekly anonymous one‑question surveys, personally responded to comments, shared results transparently with staff and senior leaders, and used the feedback to change workspace, development and communication practices. Within about a year IT turnover fell from 12.0% to 3.1%, participation averaged about 66% (up to 75% for simple questions), and the program has since been expanded to other teams.
