Giving Voice to Japan’s Local Stays in a Global Market

Google wanted to surface Japan’s small, independently run inns—ryokans, minshuku and regional guesthouses—that embody local culture but often don’t appear in travel searches because they lack structured data or OTA connections. TinyFish, as an official connectivity partner, addressed this gap by using web agents to turn public hotel web pages into structured data that can be consumed by travel search platforms.

TinyFish implemented those web agents to capture real‑time availability and pricing from properties like WEEK Kamiyama and feed that structured data into Google Search. The result: previously hidden stays became discoverable to global travelers, giving small hotels broader reach and travelers access to authentic local options—an outcome TinyFish describes as quietly transformative for visibility and bookings.
