Case Study: LocalStack scales real-time product analytics with Tinybird

A Tinybird Case Study

Preview of the LocalStack Case Study

LocalStack uses Tinybird to analyze 100,000+ instances in realtime

LocalStack, the cloud emulation platform used by tens of thousands of developers, needed to give users real-time visibility into API calls and anonymized product usage data. As its base grew to 10,000+ developers and 100,000+ instances, its MySQL-based pipeline became a bottleneck, with dashboards taking several seconds to load and little room to scale for future telemetry needs.

With Tinybird, LocalStack migrated from MySQL in seconds by exporting CSV files and then used managed connectors and Tinybird’s ingest-transform-expose flow to unify hot and cold data in real time. Tinybird helped LocalStack build scalable analytics without dedicated data engineers, unify events across products, and expand into new use cases like combining product usage with GitHub issues and surfacing errors in real time, supporting 7.6 GB processed per month and 14,800 requests per day.
