A Tintri Case Study
William Woods University, an independent private university in Fulton, Missouri, needed high-performance storage to support its virtual desktop and virtual server environments on a tight IT budget. After earlier success with Tintri for VDI, the university faced slow Dell EqualLogic storage in its VMware vSphere server environment, creating latency, performance, and management challenges for a small IT team.
Tintri provided the solution with Tintri VMstore systems, including the T540 and later the T850, to support the university’s virtual desktops, virtual servers, website, and file server. William Woods University reported dramatically simplified storage management and much better performance, including faster website page loads and smooth support for 65 server VMs and about 400 virtual desktop VMs, with the original Tintri T540 still running reliably after years of growth.
