U.K.’s Amatis Networks Delivers World-Class Managed Hosting Services Using Tintri Storage

Amatis Networks, a U.K.-based managed hosting provider, needed to solve severe performance and scalability issues in a customer’s multi-site HA environment. The environment was seeing VMs hang and crash during peak periods, while troubleshooting was difficult and application latency was too high. Amatis turned to Tintri storage, specifically Tintri VMstore appliances, to support the new private cloud deployment.

Tintri implemented two VMstore T620s and one T650, giving Amatis VM-aware storage with strong performance and visibility. The results were significant: average application latency dropped from 25 ms to sub-microsecond levels, with peak spikes reduced to 2 ms, a 60:1 improvement. Amatis also cut datacenter footprint from 12U to 4U, reduced power consumption by 66%, and completed a major customer environment deployment in just 14 days.
