A Tintri Case Study
Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, a 73-bed healthcare provider in Ontario, Canada, was struggling with slow VMware Horizon virtual desktop logins, storage capacity limits, and management complexity across a small IT team supporting nearly 700 users. Using VMware vSphere and VMware vSAN, the hospital needed a better way to improve VDI performance and simplify storage operations, so it evaluated Tintri and its VMstore system.
Tintri implemented a VMstore system for the hospital’s virtual desktops and server environment. The result was login times dropping from several minutes to seconds, about 10x faster desktop access, and 16x storage savings through Tintri deduplication, shrinking usage from 26 TB to 1.5 TB. Tintri also eliminated about an hour of daily storage management and allowed upgrades and maintenance during production hours without disruption.
