Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice (WCSR), a large business law firm, struggled with inconsistent storage performance, high latency, and complex SAN-based management in its virtual desktop environment, which hurt attorney productivity and made troubleshooting difficult. The firm needed a self-contained VDI platform that could deliver a better end-user experience and be managed by VMware administrators without specialized storage expertise, using Tintri.

Tintri implemented a Tintri VMstore T540 dual-controller storage appliance to support WCSR’s VDI deployment and integrate tightly with VMware vCenter. The result was consistent desktop performance, easier VM-level troubleshooting, and simpler administration; WCSR was able to run 225 desktops with plenty of remaining performance and capacity headroom, while improving productivity and reducing storage complexity.
