Tintri Upgrade Enables ICC Chemical Corporation to Simplify Storage Management and Boost VDI Performance

ICC Chemical Corporation, a chemical commodities trading and logistics company in New York City, was struggling with slow, hard-to-manage NetApp storage as its VMware Horizon and vSphere virtual desktop environment grew. The company needed better performance and simpler administration for VDI and enterprise applications, especially since IT was managed by a single person.

Tintri implemented a Tintri VMstore T5040 all-flash system for ICC Chemical’s on-premise infrastructure. Tintri cut storage deployment time from over a week to about one hour, enabled 48-minute data migration, and improved VDI performance enough to add more virtual desktops. Tintri also reduced storage footprint by 84% through compression and deduplication, lowered power/cooling/space from 7U to 2U, and made performance tuning easier with Tintri QoS.
