Tintri solves EMC complexity issues at Saint Michael’s College

Saint Michael’s College, a Catholic liberal arts college in Vermont, needed a simpler way to support its growing virtual desktop and server environment without adding IT staff. Its existing EMC storage setup was creating too much complexity and management overhead for VMware Horizon View and other virtualized workloads, making it difficult to keep costs and operations under control.

Tintri implemented VMstore to give Saint Michael’s College a single-pane-of-glass storage platform for VDI, server virtualization, and disaster recovery. The result was much simpler setup and ongoing management, stronger performance, and lower operational effort; one disk-intensive application workload was cut from a couple of hours to half that time, and the college later consolidated about 100 virtual servers onto Tintri.
