Tintri Enables Polycom to Keep Pace with 400% Growth in Customer Training Environment

Polycom, a global collaboration software provider, needed a more powerful and reliable storage platform for its rapidly expanding customer and employee training environment. As its Education Services division grew more than 400%, the legacy storage system could not keep up, causing slow response times, reliability problems, and capacity constraints for its VMware-based virtualized training network. Tintri was selected to support the high-performance, easy-to-scale requirements of Polycom’s training operations.

Tintri implemented VMstore T540, T620, and T850 systems across Polycom’s global education data centers, with Tintri Global Center added to simplify monitoring and management. The result was immediate: complaints about slow course material access stopped, instructor satisfaction improved, and storage administration became much easier. Tintri also delivered the IOPS and scalability Polycom needed to support close to 100 instructor-led classes each quarter, while reducing complexity and eliminating the need for specialized storage training.
