Ster-Kinekor Moves Production Workloads to Tintri

Ster-Kinekor, South Africa’s largest cinema company, was struggling with slow performance, difficult storage management, and poor visibility across its VMware vSphere environment and mixed legacy storage systems. The company needed a better way to support its production workloads and SAP databases, and turned to Tintri VMstore after evaluating the vendor’s solution.

Tintri implemented VMstore T540 and T850 systems to support Ster-Kinekor’s Entertainment and Theater divisions, simplifying storage into a single datastore and making performance issues easier to pinpoint. The results included cutting report generation time from 30 minutes to 9 minutes, doubling SAP performance, reducing storage management time to nearly zero, and enabling full QA copies of a 5TB production environment to be snapped and ready in just 15 minutes.
