Case Study: SEGA Games eliminates monster VMs and improves performance with Tintri VMstore

A Tintri Case Study

SEGA Games cuts backup times from 6 hours to 20 minutes with Tintri

SEGA Games Co., Ltd., a Japanese multinational video game developer and publisher, faced performance challenges from high I/O "Monster VMs" that were impacting other virtual machines in their environment. They also wanted to virtualize remaining physical servers to improve recovery times. To address these issues, they turned to vendor Tintri and implemented the Tintri VMstore solution.

By deploying Tintri VMstore, SEGA Games resolved the performance problems and achieved significant results. The solution improved overall application performance, slashed I/O recovery times from hardware failure from several minutes to tens of seconds, and provided a data reduction rate of 2.2x. Additionally, using Tintri's ReplicateVM, they reduced daily backup times from six hours to just twenty minutes.
