ParAccel™ Sees Dramatic Improvements in VM Environment

ParAccel, a high-tech analytics software provider, was struggling with severe storage bottlenecks in its fully virtualized test-and-development environment for database applications. Using older EMC Clariion storage, the company faced latencies above 100 ms, could run fewer than 10 VMs at a time, and was forced to overprovision storage, wasting capacity and increasing datacenter costs.

Tintri implemented Tintri VMstore T540 dual-controller flash storage for about 100 IO-intensive database VMs, supporting ParAccel Analytic Platform workloads. The result was a 98% reduction in latency to under 2 ms, the ability to run 70 database VMs generating more than 10,000 aggregate IOPS on a single system, and a 90% reduction in datacenter footprint, while also improving host utilization and developer productivity.
