Orange Water and Sewer Authority - Customer Case Study

Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) needed a better way to manage its virtual environment and improve application performance. Using a storage setup that required one datastore per VM on its older Dell EqualLogic systems made administration time-consuming and made it hard to pinpoint whether performance issues were coming from storage or elsewhere.

Tintri implemented a VM-aware storage solution for OWASA, including Tintri T820/T850 Hybrid-Flash systems for VMware vSphere and Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp workloads. With Tintri, OWASA gained much better visibility into bottlenecks, reduced data footprint by 2X through deduplication and compression, and cut VM deployment time from 45 minutes to well under 10 minutes. The same SQL query also ran twice as fast after migration, helping the small IT team simplify management and improve performance.
