Case Study: NHH achieves simpler, high-performance virtualization with Tintri VMstore

A Tintri Case Study

Preview of the NHH Case Study

Norwegian university accelerates VDI, replacing legacy SAN with Tintri VMstore

NHH, the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen, Norway, was struggling with storage bottlenecks, complex management, and rising costs as it virtualized tier-1 education applications and student desktops on VMware vSphere and VMware View. Its existing NetApp and FC-based storage could not deliver enough performance for key workloads, making it difficult to support high-uptime, IO-intensive virtual environments.

Tintri provided the VMstore T540 appliance, giving NHH a single, VM-aware flash-and-capacity platform for both server and desktop virtualization. Tintri helped NHH eliminate storage bottlenecks, simplify administration, and run workloads with performance to spare; the school also reported that it no longer had to think about storage day to day, and it expects to deploy VDI successfully on the same system.
