A Tintri Case Study
MetaBank, a federally chartered savings bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was struggling with inconsistent storage performance in its Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environment, especially for VDI and critical workloads like financial fraud/compliance servers. Its existing SAN-based storage could not keep up with demand, causing slow desktops and recurring helpdesk complaints. MetaBank turned to Tintri and the Tintri VMstore T620 to give its virtual desktops their own dedicated storage.
Tintri implemented the VMstore T620 for MetaBank’s VDI and selected server workloads, supporting the bank’s move to Hyper-V. The result was significantly higher performance for virtual applications and servers, elimination of storage-related slow-desktop complaints, and strong proactive support from Tintri. MetaBank reported that it went from receiving three or four performance tickets per week to none, while users even began sending compliments about much faster desktop speeds.
