A Tintri Case Study
Makino, a global manufacturer of high-performance machining centers, was struggling to virtualize mission-critical applications because of storage performance limits and the complexity of managing more than 40 LUNs and datastores. The company needed a solution that could support SAP, Microsoft SQL Server, and other critical VMs while simplifying VM-level troubleshooting. Tintri VMstore was selected to replace its previous HP EVA-4400 storage.
Tintri implemented a VM-aware VMstore T540 appliance to deliver flash-based performance and simpler management for Makino’s VMware environment. The result was successful virtualization of mission-critical workloads, with datastores reduced from 40 to one, dramatically easing administration and improving visibility with per-VM and per-vDisk reporting. Tintri also helped Makino achieve cost-effective performance, better troubleshooting, and enough headroom to keep expanding its virtual infrastructure.
