Lambton College chooses Tintri for Campus-wide VDI deployment

Lambton College, a growing educational institution in Ontario with multiple campuses, needed to improve access to student services by virtualizing desktops. When its existing fiber SAN caused performance issues and management complexity during a campus-wide VDI rollout, the college looked for a simpler, scalable storage solution for its VMware Horizon View environment and chose Tintri.

Tintri implemented a Tintri VMstore T540 with 13.5TB capacity as a single datastore for the college’s virtual desktops. The result was easier administration, zero downtime during Tintri OS upgrades, faster provisioning, and better desktop-level performance visibility; Lambton College said the simplified setup freed IT staff time and improved its ability to support 400 virtualized desktops.
