How the Luminaria Foundation and Texas Public Radio Created a 9-hour Streaming Event to Fundraise for Artists Affected by Covid-19

TINT partnered with the Luminaria Foundation, Texas Public Radio and venue Lonesome Rose to produce the VIVA San Antonio 2020 Livestream — a 9‑hour virtual telethon to raise relief funds for artists affected by COVID‑19. The organizers needed a single virtual experience that combined a preshow and main show, aggregated social content from dozens of participants, and presented a clear donation call-to-action, while also dealing with last‑minute issues: unrelated hashtag spam from abroad and a mid‑stream YouTube crash that required a link change.

TINT built a branded virtual event in its Experience Builder, aggregated participant handles, mentions and hashtags (and used the Chrome Extension to capture missing content), and emphasized a prominent CTA with UTM tracking. When problems arose the team quickly updated the hashtag to localize content and swapped in a new video block to restore the stream. The result: thousands of viewers, over $5,000 in the first nine hours and a total of $6,756 raised during the telethon, helping the Luminaria Artist Relief Fund contribute $65,400 in aid to 109 artists.
