How Avanza eliminated friction for users and doubled their conversion rate

Avanza, Sweden’s largest stockbroker with a widely used digital platform, was losing customers when they tried to transfer investments because people didn’t know account numbers and portfolio details. To remove this friction, Avanza worked with Tink, using Tink’s bank-authentication and account-aggregation service (via Mobile BankID) to automatically prefill transfer applications.

Tink implemented a three-step flow: user authenticates with their bank, Tink aggregates account and holding data and the user picks an Avanza account, then the user confirms and can choose to close the old account. The result: transfers take under a minute, customers face far less hassle, and Avanza saw conversions jump by 150%, effectively doubling transfer completion.
