How ABN AMRO topped app charts with 670,000 downloads and grew customer satisfaction

ABN AMRO, one of the Netherlands’ largest retail banks, needed to make banking more personal and give customers greater control over their finances after research showed many users struggled to understand and control spending. To deliver a best-in-class personal finance management experience, ABN AMRO chose Tink to build a brand-new app called Grip.

Tink implemented Grip with features like easy expense overviews, category budgets and spending alerts; the app quickly became the No.1 PFM app in the Netherlands with 670,000 downloads. A survey of 10,000 beta users showed strong advocacy and improved perception of the bank (73% reported an improved perception), and ABN AMRO called the Tink partnership one of their most successful collaborations with an unbeatable time to market.
