SURA worked with TIMi to improve patient care and better manage the high costs associated with a small high-risk segment of its insured population. Using TIMi Suite, SURA aimed to identify patients most likely to develop serious or costly complications such as heart attacks, dialysis, chronic liver disease, and severe cardiovascular risks.

With TIMi, SURA built four predictive models in less than three months using eight years of clinical history, 4.5 million rows, and more than 23,000 variables. The solution was integrated into an analytics environment to support new patient care programs, delivering over 80% AUC for late-stage diabetes prediction, ultra-high accuracy for heart-related complications, and a 20% reduction in babies admitted to intensive care.
