Patties Foods, the dominant supplier in Australia’s packaged pie and pastry market, wanted to diversify its product range and enter new regions but lacked fast, flexible, and cost-effective business intelligence to make data-driven product and market decisions. The company needed a BI platform that would deliver timely insights across teams while fitting a medium‑sized enterprise budget.

Patties moved its data estate to Microsoft Azure and implemented TimeXtender to automate ETL and build a data warehouse on Azure SQL Database Hyperscale, ingesting ERP, planning, promotion and forecasting data and delivering analytics via Azure Analysis Services, Synapse, and Power BI. The new platform cut routine data loads from several days to about half a day, enables rapid scaling and simpler administration, and provides faster, actionable insights to support product decisions and continued growth.
