Shoplogix IMS builds real-time CDC pipelines with TimescaleDB and Kafka Connect

Shoplogix IMS, a provider of Industrial IoT solutions, faced the challenge of propagating real-time database changes across its different systems to power dashboards and analytics as its platform scaled. To meet this requirement for real-time data synchronization, Shoplogix partnered with vendor Timescale and utilized TimescaleDB.

Timescale implemented a streamlined Change Data Capture (CDC) pipeline using TimescaleDB, PostgreSQL triggers, and Kafka Connect. This solution captured row-level database operations and streamed them into Kafka without modifying existing schemas, enabling low-latency, decoupled integration and continuous synchronization across downstream systems with minimal overhead.
