Preview of the Zaxby's Case Study

This case study highlights how we helped Zaxby's cut their labor costs and time spent scheduling restaurant staff

Zaxby’s, a chicken chain with more than 500 locations, was struggling with high labor costs, too much time spent building schedules, and the need to meet corporate labor percentage goals. Franchise owner Robert Ward first used a TimeForge competitor, but found it inefficient and costly, especially as overtime piled up and scheduling for restaurant staff became a major burden.

TimeForge helped Zaxby’s streamline employee scheduling and labor management with features like AutoSchedule, position-based scheduling, shift swapping, and automated notifications. The result was less overtime, faster scheduling, and lower turnover, with Ward reporting savings of more than $12,000 per month, a drop in payroll from about $32,000 to $24,000 after switching, and labor running at 18% in the store’s eighth week. TimeForge also reduced manager scheduling time by roughly 104 hours per year and helped improve customer and employee satisfaction.
