PepsiCo worked with TikTok for Business to launch Nitro Pepsi, the company’s first nitrogen-infused soda, and needed a way to show consumers how the product’s smoother, creamier carbonation differed from a traditional cola. The challenge was to build excitement and product awareness for the Walmart-exclusive launch by letting audiences experience the product concept rather than just hear about it.

TikTok for Business helped PepsiCo run the #SmoothLikeNitroPepsi Hashtag Challenge, supported by an original branded sound, In-Feed ad placements, and creator partnerships to inspire smooth-entry videos and drive participation. The campaign generated more than 3.4 billion video views, over 99 million impressions, and 2.2 million videos created, with strong increases in ad recall and product awareness from a Kantar brand lift study.
