A TigerConnect Case Study
Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) serves about 30,000 people across a hospital and 50 remote village clinics in western Alaska. The organization faced fragmented, slow communication—providers juggled multiple unreliable pagers, admissions required multiple calls and callbacks, and Community Health Aides (CHAs) struggled to reach Radio Medical Traffic (RMTs) and specialists—creating delays that risked patient safety and strained coordination across the system.
YKHC implemented TigerConnect as a pager replacement, using Automated Persona Management (Roles), role-based scheduling with AMiON, and Broadcast Lists, plus secure photo/video attachments. The solution sped information exchange, reduced case manager workload, enabled real-time CHA–RMT communication, improved workflow efficiency, and helped avoid unnecessary medevacs—saving tens of thousands of dollars while improving patient safety and outcomes.
