Trinity Health System Improves Patient Flow with Clinical Collaboration

Trinity Health System, part of CommonSpirit Health and serving a regional population of about 200,000 from two Ohio facilities, struggled with outdated communication workflows that clogged patient throughput, raised staff frustration, and produced a high Left Without Being Seen (LWBS) rate (as high as 7%). Leadership identified inefficient consults, multi‑step handoffs, and difficulty finding on‑call clinicians as core causes that hurt patient experience, capacity, and revenue.

Trinity implemented TigerConnect’s Clinical Collaboration Platform and Physician Scheduling with role‑based, on‑call routing plus focused workflow redesign and KPI tracking. Within months LWBS fell dramatically (an 86% improvement, from 3.63% to 0.5% Jan–June), sepsis bundle compliance improved 46%, average length of stay dropped by 0.9 days (LOS opportunity days from 1.19 to 0.03), and staff adoption, satisfaction, and recruitment metrics also rose—delivering faster care, better outcomes, and improved operational capacity.
