Kadlec Regional Medical Center, a 270-bed not-for-profit in Tri-Cities, WA, was routinely operating at high occupancy and struggled with slow, manual workflows for admissions and critical lab notifications. Because clinicians had to log into the EPIC EMR or rely on phone calls to learn patient statuses, communications were delayed, phone tag was common, and non-urgent admissions sometimes proceeded unnecessarily.
To solve this, Kadlec integrated TigerConnect via a secure API and their Infor Cloverleaf integration engine, routing HL7 feeds and scheduling data from EPIC through a custom app to clinicians’ mobile devices in real time. The integration delivered instant critical lab and imaging alerts, enabled ICU subscriptions and a new patient-admission workflow, and produced faster response times, streamlined workflows, less phone tag, and reduced unnecessary admissions.
