Tigera provides secure application connectivity for Idealo’s hybrid Red Hat OpenShift and Legacy environment

idealo, the Berlin-based price comparison and e-commerce company, needed a more secure and flexible network infrastructure to support its Red Hat OpenShift container platform. Its legacy VM-era VLAN network was too static for dynamic containerized workloads, forcing developers to wait on operations teams for network changes and slowing down self-service development.

To solve this, idealo implemented Tigera Calico for OpenShift on bare metal, giving developers a simple, flat Layer 3/1-2 network model with self-service network policy controls. With Tigera, idealo achieved faster application deployment, stronger security through “deny all” network policies, improved resource efficiency, and happier developers who no longer need to contact operations for network provisioning.
