Østfold Hospital sought to advance its clinical data systems and improve patient safety by moving away from paper records. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Tietoevry to implement an electronic curve solution based on the MetaVision clinical information management system.

Tietoevry’s solution provided comprehensive clinical decision support, centralizing information and notifying staff of critical patient data like allergies or adverse drug interactions. A key to the successful implementation was the integration of change management to ensure staff adoption. The project resulted in Østfold Hospital scoring a 6 on the HIMSS EMRAM model, the highest in the Nordic region and among the best worldwide, significantly enhancing patient safety.
