the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association, an employer's association for the oil industry, faced the challenge of massive costs from production downtime and inefficient overstocking of expensive spare parts by its member companies. To address this, they collaborated with vendor Tietoevry to find a smarter way to manage inventory.

Tietoevry created a joint cloud-based "Virtual inventory" platform, allowing member companies to transparently buy and sell spare parts from each other. This solution has already prevented downtime valued at over 100 million euros by enabling a shared economy for equipment, drastically cutting costs and increasing operational uptime for the industry.
