Metsä Group's Metsäverkko digitalises timber trading

Metsä Group aimed to provide its forest owners with digital tools for evaluating and selling timber assets, seeking to make forest management accessible and increase engagement. They partnered with Tietoevry to help develop an electronic service for these online timber trading and forestry needs.

Tietoevry developed the Metsäverkko online application, which enables secure timber transactions and handles large data volumes for mapping and tenders. The service successfully concluded approximately 50 transactions shortly after launch and is expected to handle hundreds more, making forest management easier and enabling owners to realize significant additional income. Tietoevry was also a reliable partner in developing multichannel customer service tools to support the digital platform.
